OBJECTS – REFLECTION

Objects are pieces that are interpretable with two senses. By touching one can sometimes see clearer. A handmade object feels good in use and grows old beautifully in our hands. Touching is understanding.

Language is the face of culture and form is a visual language that is connected to culture and time. How design withstands time depends on how it is tied up to time. Form language that respects the material includes a strive for timelessness. From these kind of objects can grow up partners for life, silent everyday poetry, to which one can grow attached.

THE TREES MEMORY

The trees memory is stored in the wood, the marks of the earth and light have been drawn into the log as ornaments. Old trees carry with them history that is transferred into the objects.

Skill consists of seeing, assessing and the ability to apply knowledge or question it. It is not without meaning how material is used, its value is also determined by how it is used. The material always has a character, also wood has a will of its own and it should be respected.

The lifespan of objects have in a short time been reduced from the lifetime of a human being to the length of the lifetime of a mouse. In the future I hope to see around us more objects that one can grow attached to. With good design and high-quality production we can build a better material environment that continues to live on after us. I believe that the only sustainable way to consume is to consume less and to demand more from our objects. Quality rather than quantity.
